I live downtown. It sits 6 days a week. Still feels like a security blanket.

do the math on what you actually spend per year on insurance, parking, registration, gas, maintenance. divide by 52. that's what each weekend trip costs you. for that money you can rent a car when you actually need one and still come out way ahead.

Almost got me
try it before you sell it. park it at a friend's place for a month and don't use it. if you don't miss it, you have your answer. if you do, you didn't lose anything.

Good point
the security blanket part is the whole thing though. there's a real difference between knowing you could leave and having to figure out logistics first. that's not nothing. it's just not free.

depreciation is eating it whether it moves or not. that's the part people forget. sitting in your spot it's still losing value every month. atleast if you sell now you keep some of it.
