Privacy.

What we collect

• The prompt and context you submit. That's the whole point. It's stored in our database and shown publicly on your Convince Me page.
• Arguments and upvotes. Stored and displayed publicly. There are no user accounts. People can attach a display name, but it isn't verified.
• A salted hash of your IP and user agent. We never store the raw values. The hash is used for rate limiting and to keep duplicate votes and spam in check.
• A session cookie. Used for CSRF protection and to recognize you as the same anonymous person across a visit so one-vote and one-comment style rules work.
• Basic server logs (request paths, response codes, timestamps) for normal operations and abuse investigation. Retained briefly.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people land on. It sets cookies in your browser. If you don't want that, a content blocker stops it cold and the site still works fine.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent your data.
• We don't run ad trackers.
• We don't link your prompts or arguments to a real-world identity. There are no accounts.

Your manage link

When you create a Convince Me, we show you a private manage link one time. We store a hash of the token, not the token itself, so we cannot recover it for you. Save it somewhere.

Removal

If you want a prompt or argument removed, get in touch. Because there are no accounts, we can't strictly verify ownership, but we will honor reasonable requests.

Children

ConvinceMe.now is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has submitted content, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the current version. We are not going to spring "we sell your data now" on you in a stealth update.
